About the Doula

I am a mother, a wife, an aunt, a sister, a daughter. I am an artist. I am a doula.

I believe that each woman on her own is powerful, and when we get together that is where the magic happens! I love walking down the street, wearing my baby on my chest, passing another mama and smiling kindly at each other. There is a certain knowing and sense of belonging that we share once we have experienced this rite of passage.

Knowing firsthand, the vulnerability and isolation that one can feel during pregnancy and postpartum, I longed to find a way to support other women through the highs and lows of their own motherhood journeys. My goal as a doula has never been to ‘save’ other women, but instead to walk alongside them and let them know they are not alone. We do not need saving, it’s just that we were never meant to do all of this on our own; we deserve to be supported, held, celebrated and cared for. It would be both a privilege and an honor to be part of your support team.

When I am not creating art or doula-ing, I am: spending time with my family and friends, going on a nature walk with my kids, cooking, reading, or practicing creative skills. I am very interested in natural, non-toxic and sustainable living; and even more so since becoming a mother. As a highly-sensitive person, I am drawn towards intimate moments to really connect with people. Naturally curious, I enjoy learning about history and listening to other people’s life stories - I can’t wait to hear yours!

Yours truly,

Dana
