Virtual Planning
“The power of a birth plan isn’t the actual plan. It’s the process of becoming educated about your options.”
Planning for Birth, Postpartum and Breastfeeding
Many women are familiar with a birth plan, however, did you know that creating plans for postpartum and breastfeeding are just as important?
During our virtual planning sessions, we will create a comprehensive plan that covers your birth, postpartum and breastfeeding goals. This process will help you to quiet the noise around you and trust your intuition. Virtual planning is a great option for women who don’t want or need a doula to attend their birth, but do want to discuss their options with a birth professional (Note: this service is already included if you have hired me to be your doula). These are private 1:1 sessions allowing you to speak freely about your desires and any fears or concerns you may have. I offer a judgement-free, safe space, so that we can create a plan for you that is the most honest representation of your wants and needs.
Virtual planning is usually complete within 3 sessions, however if more time is needed we can arrange for that. I want to make sure you feel confident and at ease by the time we are done working together. Please reach out at any point during your pregnancy - 1st , 2nd and 3rd trimester mamas are all welcome! Partners are highly encouraged to attend.
So, what is included?
Session #1: All about YOU - tell me about who you are, how your pregnancy is going, how you envision your birth, what your expectations are for postpartum and what your breastfeeding goals are.
Session #2: Prior to this session, you will have completed an in-depth questionnaire for my review. At this session, we will review and discuss your answers together. It is very helpful to have your partner attend this session so that they can ask questions as well.
Session #3: I present your finalized birth plan in an editable document for your use. It is yours to keep, and I suggest that you share it with your birth team (doctors, midwives, nurses, doulas, and anyone else who will be present) to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Total cost for virtual planning starts at $400
